Baked Beans
Ingredients:
1 Large Can Van de Kamp's Pork & Beans
3/4 cup chopped onion
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup butter ('cause butter makes everything better!)
1/2 cup butter ('cause butter makes everything better!)
1 cup ketchup
2 slices uncooked bacon, chopped
3/4 Tbls Liquid Smoke
3/4 Tbls Liquid Smoke
Mix all ingredients in an oven safe 5 quart pot. Bake in a 250 degree oven for as long as possible. I do this for at least 2-3 hours. If you need it soon, you can bake it at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. i haven't tried it in a crockpot, but I bet that would work too.
The last couple of times, I used half the butter it calls for, but if you use the whole stick of butter, it's very rich and dripping with yumminess. You can probably get at least 8-10 servings out of this batch, so I usually freeze half of it and use it up the next time we do BBQ. Yum.

When short on time try cooking in the microwave. Cook on high in 5 minute intervals stirring after each. Stop when a little thinning than desired. They will thicken as they cool.
