My Valentine's: A Printable, a Present, and a Vignette

****Have you entered the blog makeover giveaway yet???****

Valentine's Day came early for me when I spied some gorgeous nightstands in my friend Kate's space at Country Roads.

I made a little mention to her that maybe she should let my "cupid" know about them. Well being the good friend that she is, she did, and guess what showed up at my door today?!

I realize not everybody is into the "shabby" look, but these are vintage and I just love them. Unfortunately, it may have prompted a little (or possibly big) bedroom redo, as Rick and I both looked at our new nightstands in our room and said, "We need a new headboard." Our bedroom furniture belonged to my grandparents and is really beautiful and in great shape, but it's from the 60s, a laquered oak finish, and really just not my style.

I decided to add a little Valentine's vingette, complete with a new printable.

The sweet little cherub was a gift from my friend, Kate; another "I spy" from her blog.

And of course, this.

I had a vision for this a while back, and decided it would make a great printable for Valentine's day.

It has 1 Corinthians 13 (the love chapter) in the background, and the word LOVE in a transparent red. If you like it, it's free for the taking.
Size is 5"x7" (I actually reduced mine a bit to fit in a 4"x6" frame I had). As always, just right click and save.

I've got a big blog project coming up in the next few days...I'll be unveiling something new...don't you want to know what it is??? Come back this weekend and check it out!

A Printable for the New Year

The Christmas decorations have come down and it's time to start thinking about a little redecorating and organizing in our home.

I'm still totally lovin' this new printable craze, and I've been enjoying coming up with new ideas for the coming months. Like this Bible verse I saw over at Just Devine Style. I thought it would be a great quote for a new printable for the New Year.

"You crown the year with your bounty, and your carts overflow with abundance." Psalm 65:11

My friend had just given me a beautiful Pottery Barn frame, and this printable was a perfect match.

I've been told by several people that I should start selling my printable art on etsy. I don't know, I kind of like offering them to others for free. You know, when you start getting paid for what you enjoy it starts to be not as fun. What do you think?

Since I'm not quite ready to open up an etsy shop just yet, I'm still offering the printable for anyone who might be interested. Just click to enlarge, then right click and save. Size is 8"x10".

I hope you like it as much as I do.

Happy New Year!

Christmas Scripture Word Tree Printable

I've seen a lot of these in blogland, but I was really looking for one that spoke to the true meaning of Christmas. I couldn't find it, so I decided to create my own.

You can find the full post and printable download at my current blog, Simply Klassic Home.

For the past few years, I have been designing our Christmas cards, and this year will be no different. Except that I have created several, and I can't choose! I do have a couple that I am leaning towards, but I still can't decide, and the man is tiring of me asking for his opinion!

That's where you come in. I need your help, my dear friends. Can you help me choose our Christmas card this year? To thank you, I will send you my latest printable for Christmas, one that I won't be offering otherwise on my blog.

My inspiration for the NOEL printable came from this:

AND thanks to the popularity of my Subway Art & Scripture printables (here and here and here), I am also giving away a free printable, personalized just for one lucky commenter! You decide what you want it to say, the style, color scheme, etc., and I will design it for you. Or if you would prefer, send me your photos and I will design a digital Christmas card to your specifications.

Here are my top four picks for our 2010 Christmas card.

1.

2.

3.

4.

(In case your wondering, I used digital scrapbooking packs from shabbyprincess.com. Cards were created using Photoshop).

My Fall Mantle and Fall Scripture & Subway Art Printables

I'm not big on Halloween decorating. There are no skulls, spiders, witches or ghosts around my house. Don't get me wrong, I love seeing other's homes all decked, but we're never home on Halloween, so it seems like a bit of a waste to me. I have, however, found that I really enjoy decorating for FALL. Now I don't call myself a "decorator" by any means. I usually leave that to this lovely lady. But alas, she can't do everything for me, so I hope I've done her proud with my newly decorated Fall mantle.

Don't ya just totally dig the mirror? It was a beautiful old wondow that my personal decorator gave to me, and I just had a mirror put in it. (Please ignore the ugly red brick fireplace. I haven't yet worked up the guts to paint it white. I just can't decide if I'm ready to make that kind of commitment...what do you think? To paint, or not to paint???)

I decided not to buy anything new this year, so everything you see was from shopping the house and pulling out things I used last year.

I created a couple of printables in Photoshop, and put them in frames that I already had. The handprint turkey came with the frame. Just kidding! It's my son's from last year. I love to personalize this space with photos or other kid-made items.

If you would like them, I've included the digital files. Just click on the image to enlarge, right click and save. Print size is 5" x 7" for the scripture, and 8" x 10" for the subway art.

If you're new here, welcome! I'm glad you're here!! Feel free to take a look around and let me know if you like what you see. I've had a couple of requests, so I've added a place for you to subscribe to my blog. Hope to see you back real soon!

Family Values Subway Art Printable

I'm a follower. Yes, I've jumped on the subway art bandwagon.

You might remember this post, where I made some inspirational art for my kitchen. I really am loving the simplicity of the written word in black and white as art.

Like everyone else out there in blogland, I've seen a lot of DIY Subway Art. I'm a printable kind of gal rather that a paint-it-yourself-er, so I sat down in front of my computer, played around in Publisher (my favorite program, btw) and came up with this.

I chose some phrases that I felt were important for our kids (and us) to remember. This is what it says:
Laugh Out Loud
Love One Another
Keep Your Promises
Help Others
Say Please and Thank You
Don't Whine
Work Hard
Say I Love You
Share
Be Grateful
Use Kind Words
Always Tell the Truth
Do Your Best

I stuck it in a frame that I had on hand, and there you go! Free art!

Here's the printable for you if you'd like. Just click on the image, right click and save. Size is 8x10.

What would your family values sign say?
